Award information
Eligibility
The recipient must have spent a significant part of his/her career in Europe (by “Europe” it is meant any of the countries that are represented at that time in the EUCA General assembly).
(Appointed or elected) Council members, as well as members of the Fellow Evaluation/Nominations Committee, are not eligible while serving.
Basis for Judgment
Nominees will be assessed along the following criteria, weighted according to the given percentages:
- Impactful contributions to the field in the forms of publications, patents, technical innovation, educational activities, outreach, and other relevant activities. (70%)
- Community leadership and service (within and outside of EUCA). (15%)
- Strength of the reference letters. (15%)
Nominations Procedure (2027 Fellows)
Deadline: November 30th, 2026
Nominations can be made by anyone except members of the EUCA Council, of the Fellow Evaluation Committee and of the Fellow Nominations Committee (see below).
An individual can be nominated by submitting a nomination letter, completed according to the following template:
EUCA_Fellowship-Nomination-Form
Nomination letters are submitted as pdf files through Papercept. Go to https://controls.papercept.net/conferences/scripts/start.pl and follow “Submit a nomination to EUCA Awards 2027”.
In addition, nominations are supported by reference letters. After uploading a nomination letter via Papercept, nominators should log in with their Papercept PIN and password, and invite others to submit supporting letters, by clicking on “Send support requests and reminders for the nomination” (in a manner similar to requesting a review for a paper). The length of each reference letter is limited to 2 pages, and each nomination must be supported by at least 3 and at most 5 letters.
Council members as well as members of the Fellow Evaluation/Search Committee cannot serve as nominators nor references.
Fellow Evaluation Committee
The committee consists of 5 members appointed by the EUCA Council. The Fellow Evaluation Committee is tasked with selecting the recipients from the nominations.
Fellow Nominations Committee
The role of the nominations committee is to help identify people to nominate individuals as EUCA fellows. The nominations committee consists of 3 members appointed by the EUCA Council.
Presentation
Recipients of the award will be notified in early March. Recipients will additionally be recognized with a certificate at the ECC Awards Ceremony, and on the EUCA website.
